Kitchen Remodel
The kitchen was extremely small, as you can tell. It was a galley kitchen. The picture on the left is the night before the demolition began. The small french
door on the right side of the picture led to the storage room, which is the center picture. The picture on the right is from a couple of years ago when I was
trying to prepare Thanksgiving Dinner for 10 people in that small area. The pictures below are close-up shots of the cabinets, straight out of the 1950's.
I've actually seen these same cabinets on Kitchen Remodel shows on HGTV. Yuck!!!!
Our neighbor and good friend (even
after the job was finished) was the
contractor/coordinator for the remodel.
He did most of the demolition and
coordinated plumbing work. He had to
remove all the cabinets, the wall
behind the stove to open up the
space, sheet rock and flooring.
Needless to say, there was not much
level space on the floor. As you will
see, it was all worth the effort.
